The main focus of our IWC project in Mazatlan has been to distribute gospels. In two weeks, with a total of 120 participants, we placed the gospel of John or Matthew in somewhere around 18,000 homes!!! That's so huge in a culture that has been told by the priests their whole lives that they do not need the Bible. Most people don't even own their own copy since there's no "need" to read it. It was great to look back down a street after you'd been down it and see people sitting outside in the shade reading them.
One day after we had finished saturating a neighboorhood, we were walking back to the church where we began. A lady saw us going by and stepped out of her house to tell us we had skipped her house and she would really like to have what we were giving out. Luckily one person still had ONE copy to give her.
Now for the non-spiritual side...check out her pet parakeet on her foot. It was so funny. She said he often rides around on her dog's back too. I love this picture.
