Homesick

God's word reminds us that this world is not our home. Do you ever feel like a stranger...like an alien...like you're not sure where to park for a while? It's really a GOOD thing. I don't want to be settled/complacent. But why is it so hard sometimes? And how on earth do you explain it to someone?!! Maybe my blog will help you understand. I hope you enjoy.

This morning, we went back to Sweeto (where we taught on Saturday) because they wanted the nurses to talk more about SYPHILLIS! These folks will talk about ANYTHING...they do not get embarassed because virtually everyone has it. Today, however, the focus was not on the teaching. We actually went just to be a part of the house church there in that community. This is John the barber. My paster, Dr. Scott, led him to Christ while in his shop back in July. Now, only SIX months later, John is teaching others. That's the most amazing thing here. Once someone accepts Christ, they begin sharing. Imagine that...he didn't even go through Discipleship Training! Folks here don't have to know everything about the Bible. What ever little bit they learn, they teach it to others. Then, when they know more, they teach that too. No wonder this group that just started a few months ago already has nearly 100 coming every Tuesday morning at 10a.m.! They can't get enough of Jesus! Posted by Picasa
