Sweet Rachel
This is Rachel. She is the daughter of my supervisors and dear friends, John and Rebekah Barnett. She is 5 and started Kindergarten this year. She is so much fun to be around these days...you know how kindergarteners are...I can do it myself!! She's becoming so independent. I think it's a fun age. Anyway, some of you have heard me talk about her before. In the Beth Moore devotional book, Voices of the Faithful, Beth talks about Rachel in the opening to the month of November. Rachel was very sick a few years ago and the family had to return to the States for a while.
Well, for the last several months, Rachel has been having bladder and kidney infections. She has been on antibiotics for quite a while and the doctors seemed to think she was better. This week, her infections started again. Tomorrow, the family is flying to South Africa for further testing since they can't figure it out in Nairobi.
Please pray for Rachel. It's hard for a little girl to endure all of the poking and prodding they have to do. Pray too for her parents and sister, Sarah. They really don't want to have to go home again! Pray that the doctors in Johannesburg will be able to diagnose and treat the problem properly. Pray for peace during it all...and reassurance that God is in control.
