Homesick

God's word reminds us that this world is not our home. Do you ever feel like a stranger...like an alien...like you're not sure where to park for a while? It's really a GOOD thing. I don't want to be settled/complacent. But why is it so hard sometimes? And how on earth do you explain it to someone?!! Maybe my blog will help you understand. I hope you enjoy.

We had our biggest baptism ever a couple of weeks ago...39 new believers!! This is one I'd really like you to pray for. I sent a request to a few of you a while back about a man who was formerly a Muslim leader who was abducted. He was abducted shortly after his wife (seen here) prayed to receive Christ and stopped wearing her Muslim dress (veil and stuff). He was beaten and threatened and then got away after 3 days. It turns out that it was his father and other Muslim leaders who did it. Anyway, now, 4 months later, it seems that the threats are starting to work. M has started going back to the mosque and is now threatening and beating his young wife. She is very scared, but is standing firm in her faith. Please pray for Miriam. As you can see, she is very young. She has 2 children and really no options. Pray that the Lord will turn her husband away from the false teachings of the Koran and that he will trust that Jesus is enough to sustain him, even when he is threatened and rejected by his family. Posted by Picasa
